One Creative Weekend #10

Welcome to One Creative Weekend #10!

Let’s get straight to the features!

Fan Favorites:

Week 9 Fan Favorites

  • Natalie (NorthShore Days) created this beautiful Colour Block Beach Bracelet.  (She linked another beautiful jewelry project this week, too.  Be sure to check them both out.
  • This timely post, “How to Discourage Theft of Your Blog Content,” was posted by Kirsten at Craftiments.  I’ve actually heard a lot about site scraping this week, so it’s a timely and valuable post.  I wish we didn’t need the information, but I think we all do.  Isn’t that sad?
  • Rachel (Adventures of a DIY Mom) created this awesome bag from an old jumper.  Since I’ve seen this post featured all over the web, I won’t be surprised to see jumper purses appearing all over town!  Great tutorial, Rachel.
  • These Lemonade Meltaway Cookies come from Monica at M Double M.  Lemon desserts are my favorite.  I can’t wait to try these.  Thanks, Monica.

My Favorite Recipes

Featured Recipes

  1. Rachel (Architecture of a Mom) shared this yummy-looking Brown Sugar & Spice Chicken.
  2. Becca (Crumbs and Chaos) shared this fantastic comfort food–Bacon Carbonara.  I’m drooling!
  3. These (a tiny bit healthy) Blueberry Pancakes by Stephanie (Sweet Boutique) will definitely by served at my house soon!
  4. If you are ready to completely blow your diet, check out these Peanut Butter and Snickers cupcakes from Renea (Cupcake-n-Bake).  Yum!
  5. Want some more comfort food?  This one just reminds me of home:  Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches with Gravy  by Jamie (Love Bakes Good Cakes).

My favorite Projects

Project Features

  1. These Pretty Lil Jars are from Shelley at SewandDippity.  She shares lots of different types, but the burlap and button jars are my favorites.
  2. Jill (Ruffles and Linen) shared this beautiful linen dress.  If it didn’t involve ironing, I’d make one for sure!  (Realistically–I’m  not that talented a seamstress, so I’ll have to leave the sewing to Jill!)
  3. This awesome craft desk was created by Krista (The Not So Desperate Craft Wife).  I’ve seen building plans for a desk just like this.  Krista came up with a great plan–adding to something she already had.  So much easier than building from scratch!
  4. Aren’t these Welcome Back Pennants from Bronwyn (Queen B Creative Me) adorable?  I love the pic of Bronwyn on her sidebar.  She just has the “awesome teacher” look.
  5. My favorite idea this week has to be these Crate Seats from Meredith (Wait Till Your Father Gets Home).  I have so much junk to store.  I’d love to be able to store and have seating at the same time!
  6. Finally, check out this beautiful trash-to-treasure Chevron bookshelf from Bethany at Rustic Silk.  What a transformation!

I also wanted to share a great post by Marion at My Quilt Diet.  She shares her Tutorial–How I Get So Much Finished!  We could all use that tutorial, I’m sure!  It’s a getting-to-know you post, so scroll past the pics of all of her beautiful quilts to see the tutorial at the end.  Here’s a sneak-peek at one of my favorite quilts:

Here’s what I’ve been up to this week:

Blog Happenings at OCM

  • A little shoe repair  (Be sure to read to the end of the post to hear about Lu’s creative “sharing” at school.)
  • A little felt food  (Ice cream and cone tutorial and free pattern!)
  • A little splash art (Jackson Pollock-inspired)
  • A big round up! (Visit to link up as many felt projects as you would like.  The more the better!)

Now it’s your turn.  Show me what you’ve got!

While you’re here, be sure to visit my Felt Food Roundup.  Link up any and all felt projects.
