The Perfect Winter Birthday Party Ideas!

Published: Jan 29, 2021 by Heidi. This post may contain affiliate links 8 Comments

Is there a winter birthday girl at your house? It seems like parties can be a little bit tricky when you can't send the kids outside to play when you run out of things to do! For my daughter's 12th birthday, we decided to embrace the cold and go with a snowman theme. Mother nature even cooperated and sent us a blizzard that night! Here are my favorite winter birthday party ideas.

Great ideas for hosting the perfect winter birthday party for kids! We used most of these ideas for my tween daughter, and they were a big hit! {OneCreativeMommy.com} Kids party ideas

With a winter them, of course you'll want to build some snowmen -- in the house! Here are a few different snowmen crafts you might choose for your party. (For this party of 12-year-old girls, we chose the first two.)

Do you want to build a snowman? Forget the snow, and grab some socks to create an adorable sock snowman instead! {Christmas kids craft or winter decor? You choose!} OneCreativeMommy.com

These felt Christmas ornaments are such a fun kids craft! {OneCreativeMommy.com} You only need a few supplies to make these Christmas ornaments for kids!

Of course, you could always send the kids outside to build a snowman. If your party is at night, though, that's kind of tough. It gets dark and cold really quickly! If you do build snowmen, be sure to let the kids know ahead of time so that they can dress appropriately. Plan ahead with lots of fun props to make the snowmen unique!

How to Host a Frozen Party {Sock Snowball Fight!} OneCreativeMommy.com

If you are feeling extra adventurous, and you live in a state that stays warm all winter, you can try having a sock snowball fight. (It was too cold for us!) Or, if you have a big house with nothing breakable, you could try this indoors. I take no responsibility for damages!

Of course you want your guests to stay warm, so try this festive hot chocolate!

When it's time for the birthday cake, make it simple, but keep with the theme with this easy snowflake cake. This was originally for a Frozen Birthday party, but it fit perfectly with the winter theme, too!

    Simple Disney Frozen Cake

Once you're all worn out, toss some giant pillows on the floor in front of the TV, and watch a classic Christmas or winter movie while you wait for the parents. Your choice will depend on the age of your kids, but here are a few ideas:

Disney's Frozen, The Polar Express, Frosty the Snowman, A Christmas Story, or Miracle on 34th Street

Thanks for stopping by today. Have fun with your party!

So many cute ideas! We just celebrated my nephews birthday down in Southern California. It was 70 degrees outside so we didn't have to worry about it. It was a fireman party and we even had spray bottles to put the "fires" out lol.

That sounds like a whole different world, Erin! It stays warmer than most places here in the winter, but not that warm! That sounds like such a fun party, too.
