One Creative Weekend #4

Welcome to One Creative Weekend #4!  Thank you so much to all those who joined the party.  The ideas shared were fantastic!  Before I highlight the favorites, here’s what’s been happening at OneCreativeMommy this week:

Do you ever feel like you are talking to a brick wall?I blogged my first “Mommy Moment” post.  We all have them.  You know–those times when your kids do crazy things (like running out of the house without their pants), when you do something dumb (like forget to let the rolls thaw before you put them in the oven), or when you feel like you’re living in a loony bin!  Do you ever feel like–when it comes to talking to your kids–you might as well be talking to a brick wall?  Well, that’s what my post is about.  Feel free to add your favorite “Mommy Moments” in the comments.  It’s fun to laugh together!

In honor of the It Pays to Be Cheap contest at Chic on a Shoestring Decorating, I shared my $5 pencil roll project.  These pencil rolls are the best thing I ever made for my kids.  Of all my projects, these get used the most.  Be sure to check them out!

Life has been super crazy preparing for a birthday party next week and an out-of-town trip!  I’ve been working on tons of projects, but I haven’t finished any yet.  Here’s what you can expect to see coming soon:  Artsy birthday projects and tutorials and a bookshelf for the top bunk!

And now, onto the party!  Here is the fan favorite from last week:

DIY Baby Wipes or Washcloths

Sonja, at Practical-Stewardship.com, created these cool repurposed , homemade baby wipes and wash clothes.  Be sure to check out her great tutorial!

Jelly Roll Skirt

Now, onto my favorites!  Rachel, at Adventures of a DIY Mom, created these adorable jelly roll skirts.  I love the colorful fabrics and fun look.  If you want to make your own, Rachel links to the tutorial.

Drive-In Movie Party

Next, Maria, at Kids Activities Blog, shares this great idea for a drive-in movie family party.  Her post specifically tells how to make “cars” for the drive-in, but she links to her other posts about hosting a drive-in movie party.  My kids are going to love those cars!

Minnie Mouse Cake

Finally, Marcie  (who looks nothing like a grandma) created this fantastic cake for her granddaughter!  She shared it at her site, I Gotta Try That.  Be sure to visit and see all of the other party ideas as well.  My daughters would love this cake, but I don’t think I’ll ever be that skilled.  Great job, Marcie!

Be sure to visit these ladies and share some love!  I promise to highlight some recipes along with projects next week.  Life is so buy right now that–although I have been pinning the linked recipes for later– I haven’t had time to pick my favorites yet.
