I have a new bingo game out today, and it's sure to keep your kids busy over winter break. Yay! I don't know about your family, but my kids get bored very quickly when they are on vacation. They'd love to fill that time with electronics, but I'd rather they do something more social. Bingo is a great boredom buster that keeps the kids away from social media and video games. Win, win!
Bingo games for Winter Break
If winter bingo isn't right for your family, I have several other bingo games for you to enjoy over the school vacation:
Nativity Bingo, Unicorn Bingo, Christmas Bingo, and Avenger's Bingo
This bingo game is also a perfect match for my winter lunchbox jokes. If you have used them in your kids' lunchboxes, they'll probably recognize a few characters from the game. (I actually use the winter lunchbox jokes for January.)
A Little Warning
This game not only looks different than traditional Bingo, but it's played differently, too. In traditional bingo, you can win by covering five squares in a row or you can play Blackout--where the winner has to cover their entire board.
You cannot play Blackout bingo with this game. Everyone has all of the same pictures on their cards, so if you play Blackout, everyone will shout, "Bingo!" at the same time. Please, only play 5-in-a-row bingo.
I'll never forget the time a friend borrowed my Halloween bingo game to take to her daughter's class Halloween party. She didn't realize that all of the cards had all of the pictures, and she tried blackout bingo. She was super confused when the whole class won at the same time. Oops! Don't let that happen to you, please.
How to Play
Cut the two pages of calling cards into individual cards and put them into a bag or hat. To play, pull a card out of the hat, and call out what is on the card (or just show the card).
Players look for that picture on their card and cover it up with some sort of marker (pennies, small candies, paperclips, pieces of paper, or whatever you have on hand).
Continue pulling cards from the bag one at a time until someone gets five in a row.
