    Organizing Kids Drawers with Dividers

Published: Jan 29, 2021 by Heidi Fowler. This post may contain affiliate links 4 Comments

If you have little ones, you know that sometimes drawers are much too big to keep all of their small clothing organized. You end up with everything--socks, underwear, t-shirts, tights, jammies (you get the idea) all mixed together in one drawer. To add to my post about rolling clothes, here's the second thing that helps my kids keep big drawers organized:  Dividers!

Yes, you can buy these online--I just saw some for a sale price of $20 bucks--but why buy them when you can make them for super cheap?  All you need is some scrap pieces of wood--we cut up an old masonite drawing board from my teaching days--and some L-shaped brackets and short nails.

We put three dividers in one drawer for the little stuff (socks, underwear, swimsuits, etc), and one divider in another drawer for shorts and t-shirts.  It sure makes it easy to keep things neat!

There is a bracket on each side of the masonite at the front and back of the drawer.  (It's a good idea to sand the edges so that you don't get splinters in your drawer.)  Let me know if this works for you!  I'd love to see your version.

This looks great! I recently started rolling my clothes, too, and it really does save so much space. I found you on HOH.

Great idea to put dividers in the drawers. I will have to do try this with my daughter.

Thanks so much for sharing at The DIY Dreamer.. From Dream To Reality! Looking forward to seeing what you link up this evening :)
