So, you want to host a Spy Party and enlist a bunch of kids to come to Secret Agent Training Camp. Well, of course you have to start with fun invitations! These spy party invitations made all the kids feel like they were really off to spy training. (I heard one of the kids carried the invitation around all week!)
At my house, summer is full of birthday party preparation. We typically only do parties every other year, but with two girls only 22 months apart, that means their parties come in pairs. Fortunately, Boo wants a Harry Potter Party this year, so I don't have to reinvent the wheel! Lu, however, wanted a Spy Party, so that meant her crazy mommy got to do all sorts of fun stuff!
Today I'm sharing the invitations and offering a free printable so you can easily make your own.

I originally planned to mirror the image on the invitation so that the kids had to look at it in the mirror to read it, but I totally forgot! Lu was happy with them--even though they didn't have to be decoded. (We saved the decoding for the party.)
My printable includes the front of the invitations (with blank spaces for the party details) and a printable template to make the envelopes. Click the download button below the open the printable pdf file. You can print from there or save the file for later.
If you would like me to personalize your invitations, use my contact me form to let me know you are interested, and I will send you my rates and more information. Be sure to let me know the date you need the printable files sent to you so that I can gauge if I have time to complete them. (I can personalize the front, the back, and the envelopes.)
I think the envelopes are my favorite part. Here's how to make them. Folding the envelopes is pretty self-explanatory, but in case you can't figure out how to create the clasp, here are some quick instructions.
After folding all sides of the envelope toward the inside, use a glue stick or double sided tape to seal the middle and bottom of the envelope. Punch a hole into the center of the top flap. Slide a thick card or piece of cardboard into the envelope under the hole, and fold down the flap. (This is to protect the outside of the envelope while you cut a hole.) Use a craft knife to cut a vertical slit through the envelope inside the hole. (This is where you will put your brad.) Open the envelope, remove the card, and slide a brad through the slit you just created. Tape the brad to the inside of the envelope. That's it!
Have fun, and come back soon for more ideas from the party. I used three fonts for the invitations: Spy Agency, Top Secret, and OCR A Std. (The last one came with my computer.)

Thank you SO much for these! I was looking all over for spy invitations for my son's party and these are GREAT! Super cute but don't use up so much ink that I can't print them from home. I LOVE the envelopes!
Heidi
I'm so glad you like them, Arlene! Have a great party!

Hi Heidi,
The invitations look great but I am unable to add my details whilst the printable is a PDF, do you have them in word?
Heidi
I’m sorry, but I don’t have a word file. These were created in Photoshop. I do offer customization. There is a link under the download button to my contact me form. Fill out the form, and I will send you more details.
Amie
Awesome, thank you! This is perfect.
Heidi
You're welcome, Amie. I hope these work well for you. Have a great party!
Michelle
These invitations are great! Can you tell me what font you used for the text? Thanks.
Heidi
Thanks, Michelle. The font information is in the post. It’s toward the end, right above the spy gadgets from Amazon. Have fun!

Do you have the PDF version of the back of the invite as well? Could you email it to me or can I download elsewhere?
Stacie
Thank you so much for offering these free printables for us mommas out there that are not the craftiest My question is the same as above... Is there a way to get the back of the invite?
Heidi
Hi, Stacy. I don’t have a printable of the back because it would be different for everyone. I can customize it for you and send you the file to print, but I charge $10/hour (It’s never taken me longer than an hour.) Let me know if you are interested.
Heather
Love these! Thank you so much!
