I don't know about the rest of you, but I am not ready for Halloween!
We just put up our decorations yesterday! Yep. Yesterday. Life has been so crazy with lessons, homework, blogging, and getting ready to long-term sub in kindergarten that Halloween fun seems to have slipped into the background.
It's time to fix that! Last year, I shared these great Halloween games: Halloween Charades/Taboo and Guess the Creepy Pair.
The charades were perfect for the kids (and grownups), but the guessing game answers were a little too old-fashioned for my young kids. This year, I created a couple more versions with more modern answers.
So, get ready to grab your family, invite the neighbor kids, and start playing!
Guess the Halloween Pair
Of course, I can't show you the download, or everyone will know the answers to the game! The printable includes the names of 14 couples that would be fun to mimic for Halloween. They might be actual couples (think Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein), or the may be more like a "dynamic duo" (think Batman and Robin).
Preparation:
Cut the printable into strips (with one couple on each strip of paper), and tape one paper to the back of each player.
To play:
Players take turns asking each other yes or no questions to find out what couple is written on their back. Once the couple is guessed, the player can continue helping other players discover their Halloween couple.
Guess the Halloween Character
If your crowd is too young to recognize the Halloween couples, try this game instead. The game is played just like the previous game, except there is only one spooky character name on each strip of paper. (Think "The Headless Horseman," and yes, the names listed are much more kid-friendly than that one!)
If you want to adapt this for even younger kids, print out picture of a spooky characters to tape to their backs instead. (Characters from movies they have seen might work well.)
The download includes 14 characters.
Once you've tried these as a warm up, it's time to get a little crazy with my Halloween Charades from last year. Everyone will have a blast acting out the silly Halloween situations! (And, if you have a physically handicapped player who can't do the actions, the game also works perfectly with Taboo. Describe the situation without using any of the words on the paper.)
So, what are you waiting for? Check out the download, and get busy! (Remember, once you've looked at the download, you'll know all of the answers, so be sure to keep them secret!)
Now for the most important part . . . Have fun!

Fun ideas! I think it's hard to come up with games as clever as these are! I can't use them this year - but I'm saving them for next. Thank you!

Hi, Julie. I don’t have a pin the spider on the web printable. Good idea, though. Now I need to make one!
I do have several Halloween bingo games in my Etsy store. You’ll find them here: (I can’t add a link here, but you can copy and paste:)
