What E're Thou Art, Act Well Thy Part: Free Printable

Here's a great quote for teaching children (and for reminding ourselves) to always do our best--no matter how small the task.

So, where did this quote come from?

A few weeks ago, while listening to the April 2003 LDS General Conference, I was inspired by a talk given by Elaine S. Dalton, titled We Are Daughters of Our Heavenly Father.  (Click to listen to or read the talk.)  She said, "As daughters of God, we are each unique and different in our circumstances and experiences. And yet our part matters—because we matter."

Included in her talk was the story of how David O. McKay,  president of the LDS church from 1951-1971, came across the quote, "What E're Thou Art, Act Well Thy Part," and adopted it as his motto.   I hope the talk and story inspire you as well!

Want to hear the story of the stone that originally carried this quote?  Check out this video on youtube.

Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for this! I really liked her talk. It helped me realize that we have to be courageous in the face of a lot and act as best we can given the circumstances! Tiffany
